The parents of the two stilt babies were working very hard at protecting them from predators. I'm not big on busy BG's, but the environment is difficult and from a boardwalk, almost impossible to get a good viewpoint. This was the best I could do. Do you think flash would have helped?

I like the mood, the angle looks very good despite the boardwalk but the uneven lighting really made this tricky. A tiny bit fill flash might have helped.

    Hi Susan,
I've been trying to get some nice stilt shot for a long while now but no success. Nice to see the parent and the chick together, nice mood as Axel says.
Mmmm, tricky light though - I guess a touch of flash might have evened it out the light a bit. There seems to be some noise on the background, so maybe you can apply NR to the background - I use Noise Ninja and find that if I do a couple of moderate passes of NR without any sharpening, it smooths the background somewhat. Might work for you here too.

    Best regards,

    Gerald
