I hope everyone is out taking mini micro macro photographs this weekend! Here's another to get you all in the mood for upclose and personal images. I could have cropped this closer but loved the way the BG came out!
Canon 40D, EF 100mm f/2.8 macro
f4 @ 1/125th, ISO 200
Manual mode, Daylight WB
Natural morning light coming from the side, handheld
ACR & CS4; small crop, levels balance, clean up of stray spider webs, sharpening w/ high pass filter
For some reason, this looks like a painting more than a photograph to me. I'm not sure if it's because the high-pass filter was used. Very interesting a dual color background, with different color on each side of the image.
Ken, this was right on the edge of the lake. The sun was pouring in from the east (right side of the image) and there were no plants there to block it - it was all open to a gravel pathway around the lake. On the left side was where all the foliage was from the other plants. That's what created the "John Deere" BG!
Hey Jules,
Normally not a huge fan of multi colored BG.....but it seems to work very well here!!! Maybe it's the JD thing:D.....but the tightly wound center works very well with the BG!!!
