I made this at Blue Cypress Lake in first light while being out there with Fabs, Al and Arash. It was a great morning with plenty of photography opportunities. The birds nest in very low trees, which made this angle possible.

    Hi Axel,

One fine portrait! Amazing eye that pull you into the image and captivate your attention. The bird has good detail and I think the background is pleasing. Nicely done and thanks for sharing.

How are those eyes. Great IQ here, and I like the overall comp. Well captured.

Detail on the face is amazing. Eye contact draws in the viewer. The background color compliments the bird.
Agree with above - great portrait.
Always enjoy your images - consistently very nicely done.

Great shot. Love it. Are the juvi's eyes always in orange color?

Thanks, Troy! The eye color of ospreys changes from red to orange and later to yellow.

Outstanding Axel. Super sharp, fantastic light and BG and eye contact up the "ying-yang" as they say! The only thing I might consider it to take a little off the bottom (about 1" on my monitor).

Axel, this one will stick in my head for a very long time. Super image. So clean and tidy, yet not sterile feeling. Must be the eyes! Love how the limited dof leads one right to the eyes.
