This was taken a few days ago early morning so the light was difficult and I did not want to use flash. We where waiting for the first sunshine came threw the tree and he showed his cute face and started sleeping again right away..

Hi Rene,Good light and no need of fill flash here. You handled the exposure well and offset the birds position in the frame. I would play with some crops taking some off the left and right(still offsetting bird) to minimize some of the bark on the rt.(subjective in this case)
I also might tone down the bright bark on the upper rt of the bird. Good capture!!

Very neat photo and a little bigger and that bird will need a new door.

I find the bark a bit distracting so like Dave's suggestions on cropping.

Hi JB Neat capture !!! Agree with Dave, bird is the main attraction and would zero in more !!! btw since these guys don't move its easy to HDR the animal :) works !!!

HDR bird photography!! another notch!!! i like it as is. the bark adds some interest for me. i'd only tone down the blue cast in the shadow on the left. is this a screech? you have all the owls over there!!!!:D

I'm the oddball, I like the bark and would leave it in.
