Default Two for the price of one

Belted Kingfisher pair chatting it up in very low tones, was really a pretty special sequence as he would hunt for her and bring back food. They would have their king like conversation, I just wish I had a translator along in the blind. Thought I'd post this one as I thought it was a bit different.
(Full frame) therefore tighter than I would have normally done an image.

Hey Mike, love the late afternoon light in this, and in turn has brought out wonderful colours. I also like the eye contact between the two. Im surprised at the focal length you didnt get the KF on the right fully in the DOF. With regards to the one on the right, the body seems sharp enough, but the head is just a little soft. Easier said than done, sometimes I focus in the middle of two subjects to hopefully get them both sharp - but you knew that. ;)

Agree with above comments and love the lighting and composition. Awesome to capture two as it is a challenge to just get one. I would like to see a little more canvas on the left and on the right. Not much just a tad. Thanks for sharing this lovely image Mike !!!

Very nicely done Mike, I've shot with that combination and it is hard to capture two sharp subjects if they are not fully in the same plane. Background is beautiful and a nice simple subject to draw attention. The branch under the female and her whites appear a bit hot and draw my eye away from the male. But to be honest I'm very jealous...I have a hard enough time getting close to just one of these guys.

    Well done!

I love the front view of the female and the back view of the male,
and the looks beween the two. sweet BG.
I think its a bit tight on the sides.

Just checking in here. I mentioned it was full frame in my statement and a wee bit tighter than I'd normally like. I also said at 600mm... I should have wrote 300mm F/2.8 with Nikkor 2X TC.
Has anybody seen an image with two of them interacting on the same perch? I haven't, although I am certain they are out there.... somewhere.
