    Nice one Al! Looks like you were down there with him:). A watersnake of some kind? I wish for a better HA, (yes, even for snakes!).

    Snake pops out well in habitat and case for HAP for sure ;) but I am loving pose by snake , Excellent image. Though I am very much scared with them , I will try to dig some snake image taken sometime back ,
    Looks like snake week for sure

    Dan no clue as to the type but was later told to be harmless !! ... did use a long lens and extender in case :) .. and was too close for comfort !! :)

    I like this view of the snake (from my side of the computer :D), seriously though I do like the flowers and the low depth of field which really separates the reptile. You've captured the beautiful scale patterning very nicely.

    BTW, no harmless snakes where I live so am cautious with them all, but they are gloriously magnificent when photographed well (by someone else).

    I like it with the flowers. The scales have come out well. The lower angle adds to the image.

    Incase, one finds a snake in the road, either you move away or stamp your feet and the snake will move away. Shouting and screaming etc won't have any impact on the snake.

    I have very few snake images for good reasons, most around here run away if you get near to them, apart from the Puff Adder and I have no intention of getting anywhere near one of those.

    I like this but I may takea bit of the left to mave the subject just of centre.

    AL - I am also not a snake fan but like this shot. From what I see of the snake, the underbelly was definitely more interesting and you captured it well.
