To get everyone in the mood for the Mini/Micro/Macro challenge, here is a close up of the inside of a rose. :)

    Canon 40D, EF 100mm f/2.8 macro
    f3.5 @ 1/80th, ISO 400
Manual mode, AWB, handheld, natural light
I added a slight bit of gaussian blur and a slight vignette around the edges of the flower to make this recede away from the center area.

Very funny, Steve! It reminds me of a ball of matter, with all the electrons bouncing around it. ;) (Gosh I hope I remembered that correctly from school!)

    Hey Jules,
Very striking colors! I am debating some of the stronger whites....but I think they add a nice graphic element to the overall presentation. Not sure you will get me into the 3.5 range for the challenge.....but I'll definitely work on something this weekend!

It does look like a pulsating atom or something weird. Great colors! Thanks for the inspiration. Tried some yesterday, but they were a bust.

If you didn't say it, I wouldn't have known this's part of a rose :o

Like the vignetting and slight blur. The center of the pic really stands out.
