Very difficult getting enough light on the underside...unless they decide to land head on with the sun exactly behind you. This female actually held this pose after landing for quite a long time

Thanks Harold...will do contrast on the eyes later and repost it later. Any other suggestions on the perch....if it came in from middle right and she maintained that pose...she would have fallen into the boat and the thought of those talons on my arm is not pleasant....;). How was your vacation?
vacation...too short as always:( there is a rule in art....please correct me if i'm wrong.....that things shouldnt enter the frame from a corner. that's why i made that comment.
good thing she didnt fall. i gotta feeling that would hurt!!
Perch looks good, its just the harsh light !! We need solid overcast and will do well !! One one of my trips we had clouds for the entire morning and got more keepers than on all others put together ... multiplied by a few !! These birds are tough and need soft light !!!
Are you calling this shot "artistic" ? ....be kind ;). Your post last week of the flower...that was artistic..looked exactly like a Georgia O'Keefe painting
Hi Ken, agree with Al regarding the light but I feel you did the best you could under the circumstances. The subject is well framed but I might try and tone down the perch...
Hi Ken - these guys have taught you a lot :)
Agree with the above comments - soft light for sure - I live for overcast days :)
Think we have 1 today so - Im out shooting very soon :)
