    Hello All,

First shot for me here. Nice to meet you all.

    David:

A big welcome to BPN> A great place to learn and grow as a photographer.

I like the wing tip touching the water, the interesting pattern of reflections on the underside of the wing. The exposure on the non shaded whites pretty good.

There are several areas to consider:
    1) The bird is already past you and angling away. The most engaging pictures have the bird parallel or angling towards the viewer
    2) The light angle, above and to your right, cast some deep shadows, which are a challenge to work with.
    3) The Canada goose in the background, esp. with the head cut off is distracting our eye from your main subject
    4) The bird is a bit tight in the frame. He needs some more room to fly in, esp. to the front.

It is always fun to capture these beautiful birds. Above are just some thoughts to keep in mind next time. Can't always have everything just perfect, but we always keep working towards that goal!

    Cheers

    Look forward to more.

    Randy

    Randy,

Thanks for the comments. There are some interesting things you mentioned.

Controlling the shot situation for BIF is a bit more challenging than still shots and your suggestions give me things to consider.

Thanks again for taking your time to comment and nice meeting you.

    Take care.

A big welcome to BPN David!!:)

Good advice by Randy. I too love the wing touching the water, and the water reflecting off of it. One other thing I would mention is that an aperture of f/14 is a bit much for most bird photgoraphy. Opening up will give you more shutter speed to work with, and will render the BG even more blurred and less distracting(which is much more appealing).

Looking forward to more from you!

    One other question.

What sites for hosting your pictures do you all use?

    Tx
