This is a nestling from the Green Heron nest I have been working for over a month. I have posted images from the nest a few times. Of the three babies in the clutch, this is the only one remaining. It finally come out on a branch in the open for a clear shot but has not yet fledged.

Hi Milt - 1 out of 3 is not a great survival rate - Is that normal for this species?
Agree with AL on the light angle - good clear BG.
    Keep em coming :)

Harold, there is only 1 left. About a week ago, the other 2 were there one day and were gone the next. Since they were not fledged, we assumed that they were taken by predators or as some one mentioned, "they reverted to nature".

Hi Milt,Agree with Al on the lighting adjustments otherwise well handled! Sharp and muted backround. The diagonal of the branch helps also...

    Hi Milt,
Just want to thank you (and Vilma too) for sharing this Heron family over the past month. I've enjoyed the images and story.

In your photographs you have immortalized the two that were lost, and proven their existence.:)
    Thanks,
    Ann
