Another image from Gatorland taken last month. Would have loved a bit more color but I really liked the raised crest.

40D, 500 f/4 + 1.4 TC, 1/1000 at f/7.1, Manual Mode, Evaluative Metered, ISO 200,Raw, Tripod, Cropped and some cloning done on the beak

Lovely Don, great exposure, colors sharpness.... others will tell you to crop vertically, but I'm partial to this horizontally. Bittersweet this clean bird, whatwith the current situation in the Gulf....:(

Very nice photo with the beautiful colors and the nice BG. I like the crop as it is. TFS.

Cool pose, good sharpness, BG and the raised crest adds a lot to it. I would run NR on the BG and it would work as vertical, too.

Excellent detail all round, and well done on the exposure.

You've done a nice job on this head portrait.

    Mike...too funny :-)

I like the comp as presented too. You could selectively use the sponge tool (soft brush, 6-8% opacity) to enhance the colours to the crown/eye/bill.
