    Default Bird on a Wire

This is another shot of the Red-Tailed Hawk I came across last Sunday. He had spotted a mouse and was walking along the wire to get a better angle. I am amazed how fast he moved (swooping down to get the mouse, not walking along the wire :)) but this was a truly awesome site to watch.

Light was tricky and I can't get a decent white balance. Converted in DPP and edited using CS3, added sharpening, and a slight lift using the Shadow/Highlight Tool.

I like the pose you've captured with the bird walking on the wire like this. You can clearly see the concentration on the birds face, which looks great. Lots of nice detail as well.

Hi Jamie, Very different view and comp of a raptor. I like the wire being on a diagonal with good positioning and detail in the bird. Preferred the bird to be better lit but well handled under the circumstances...

Love that bird !! A picture of concentration :) Would tighten composition for seeing the bird larger in frame, want to see that face !!! Excellent !!

A very interesting pose and setting for the photo. Lots of detail in the bird as well.

I also like the story behind the shot.

Looking forward to the next one.

    Hi Jamie

I was thinking something like this ... change the angle a little and crop with just a bit more room, while was at it just tweaked the bird with curves, worked on the pupil and sharpened a little !!
