    Default Grasshopper Sparrow being quiet.

Almost all of my images of this species are of it calling. I kinda like this one where it is looking more contemplative. It was also perched a little lower to the ground, which introduced some grassy "habitat" along the bottom...something I also like. Audio used.

I slao made a version without the bigger curled OOF grass at left, I'm flip-flopping on which I prefer :)

    Hi Daniel,
I like the composition as presented. It is my opinion that the "bigger curled OOF grass at left" helps define the habitat and is strong enough to add a sense of balance for me. Good head angle with a pose that displays the bird very well. Exposure and sharpness look good and the colors are pleasing. Very nice!

I love sparrows. This setting is terrific for a grasshopper sparrow. Wonderful pose.....and I don't recall seeing one that wasn't singing. I, too, would keep the curly OOF grass.....as it gives a sense of depth to the BG. Well done.

Nice simple portrait Daniel. I like the level of OOFness of the curled grass but with it being the only curled angle in the BG, I'd remove it if mine.

I really like the statuesque pose in this one Daniel. I too like the inclusion of the OOF grasses on the left they really give a feel for where these guys live. Well done on all counts.
