    Looks like a Pileated Woodpecker from what I can see of it.

    Thanks for the very quick replys.
    It was one of my guess but I was confused by the forked tail who does not match my National Geographic bird guide.

    Sibley's images of woodpeckers in his guide all show this woodpecker tail structure. They have very strong tail feathers which provide support as they move up and down tree trunks. Have a look at this Downy Woodpecker's tail.
