    Default Weekly Theme: Snowy Display

This was from the Alligator Farm a year or so ago. I used levels to darken the background, then lighting effects on the egret. I masked back the branches and feet. I don't know if I should have left part of the egret darker to really be chiaroscuro. Any other ideas welcome. Thanks for looking!

Excellent Cindy! You definitely got the look. Love that breeding plumage. You could darken the foliage and feet just a bit and maybe tone down the head, but this looks really good to me.

    Cindy,

I'm still not sure if this is chiaroscuro or not, but I sure like the image. The egret's display is beautiful and all the feathers are so nicely captured and presented.

    Nice image and application, Cindy.

Agree with Kerry on slight toning down, but like the image as well.

Wow, Cindy, this is a beauty!
Excellent catch of great breeding plumage and colors!
The head IS a bit bright, but it doesn't really bother me.
I might suggest cloning out the bits of leaves above the head and see what you think.

Thanks, everyone, for the comments and good suggestions. I'll try to do a repost soon, or at least, keep those in mind for a different attempt.

Cindy, gorgeous bird, plumage and pose. I too might tone down the green leaves in the foreground :)
    Best,
