    Default Weathered

Taken in the Timbavati Game Reserve, South Africa. I'm not sure if his right eye is partially closed because of battle or because of the fly on his lower lid.

No crop, handheld in a safari vehicle.

    C&C welcome and appreciated.

    Thanks,

Geeeez, this guy looks like he's been around the block a few times. :( Love the tight comp and well presented overall I think. :)

This looks like a very old chap, there are plenty of prior battle scars. I would have preferred a little less crop.

At first, not sure about the tight crop. But the more I look at it the more I see it is about his face, face only. His beat up, bedraggled, scared face. And that is a good crop showing this.

This fellow shows some character. Another vote for a wider composition.

Thanks everyone. By the tight composition I was trying to convey a sense of battle weariness. He also did not have a very full mane, rather it was sort of bedraggled. But I do think I have to start shooting a little fuller than the my intended composition and then compose in PP.

    Thanks again,

    Rachel

Hi Rachel Sorry I'm late on this one .. can go with the tight composition but would like to have sharper detail, did you have to crop this a lot? It is a compelling face .. btw on the bottom would have shown a little more !!

Hi Al. Thanks for the comments. No crop at all.
