    Ian:

I don't know.. There is something about the BG and the light that seems to throw the colors off on your subject.. Subject looks like it could use a little sharpening, and the overall color of the image leaves me a little cold..

Hi Ian, agree with Dave. The orange water looks weird and the rock-water border is strange. Also, did you blur the upper BG in PP? It all looks unnatural to me. Could you please explain how you processed the image and what your intention was in doing so?

Actually, the water color is accurate (taken at sunrise). No PP blurring (shot wide open at f/5.6 -- probably not a good idea with this lens/TC combo). Only PP was some sharpening, cropping and NR.

Thanks for the details, Ian. Am interested in reading what others opine.

    Ian,
I kind of like it. The birds color does seem off somehow, and maybe a bit soft, but it is a juvie.:) I might take some off the top, just leaving a little of the rocks and their shadow. But that's just me.

Yes, it is a juvie and the image is grossly overexposed. Also, the focus is slightly off the bird.
    Composition is nice though :)

Hi Ian - does look a little strange - post the original maybe with no changes - might assist in seeing whats going on.

See if this helps some.. Did a little levels adjustment and some sharpening.. Still needs some sharpening, but didn't want to go too far.. A little NR wouldn't hurt either...

Thanks all. I seem to have misplaced the file for the original ... I'll find it eventually and post it.
