    Indian River County, Fl - 1D Mark IV, 500mm, hand held from boat, 1/2000, F7.1, ISO 800, manual exposure

    Here is one from my Osprey Heaven workshop. The image was made yesterday morning.

    Killer pose albeit a little steep. I like the vocalization aspect also.

    Wish his / your position would have permitted even light on both sides of his head.

    Do ospreys pupils dilate independently ? When zoomed in his left is markedly larger than the right or maybe it is the vantage point which makes it look that way.

    That is easy to answer. Judging by the image and the fact that one is in full sun, one is in shadow, I would guess Yes.

    Super sharpness and pose Jim! I love it. The blood gets extra points!

    Only small point for me is the shadow on the right side of the face and maybe the angle up.

    Jim, one heck of a shot. not that we expect anything less from you. The blood drops in the air also add a lot IMO.
