    Default Roan antilope

A subject that not a lot of people get to photograph in South Africa, due to them being hunted out very severely and their natural habitat being influenced by cattle ranching. This image was captured on a private nature reserve where they are being breed and to be distributed to areas which they inhabited long time ago.

Great image of a rare animal. Excellent light. When I ws in S.A. a few years back we saw some Sable in Kruger but got nothing... We traveled to a smaller State Park SW of Jburg, but I can't remeber the name, and did well with them and roan.. Congrats on this image.

Beautiful image in great light. A few small nits: I would prefer a little more room at the bottom to allow for its virtual feet to be included. The whites around the muzzle and inside edge of the ear look hot on my monitor. There are 2 out-of-focus horizontal lines above the horns that look a bit odd and could be cloned away.

Yes Steve, those are game fence lines and my apologies for not taking that out.

Very nice image of a healthy looking animal. I agree with the comments about the feet and see that you've already addressed the lines up top. I like how the thorn bush "wraps" around the animal. I'd clone out that small bright piece of horizontal grass across the bottom bush. It also looks like it could use a slight CW tilt but since no one else mentioned it, it could just be me.

Sweet light and wonderful animal. I agree that a bit more room at the bottom would strengthen the image, but that is minor, because the image is very good as is.
