    Default Banking osprey

Banking birds were harder to capture since we did not have that many chances and even less with the tree bg The one light trunk was just darkened but could be cloned away, chose just to leave it there.

    Comments welcome and much appreciated

Al, CS5 won't take the tree out easily? Like the banking shot with open beak. Have you tried landscape crop?

Yes Troy Will take the tree out .. not with one swoop, traces will left behind but procedure can be done over and then others !! Its a big deal and improvement over anything we had in the past !!

Yea, I like to know roughly how long it takes to remove something like that big.

    Alfred,
Great detail on the wings, great lighting. The tree only bothers me when I stare at it, can go either way.
Did you use any exposure compensation on this shot?

Hi Peter Compensation was probably 1/3 over in the sky which would work out to -2/3 By the end of the morning it was close to minus one (from sunny sixteen) You do need to change the exposure according to the position of the bird.

Can say how long it takes to remove the tree but this particular one would be a pain since you don't have all that much area around it to pool from, same tree on the opposite side would be faster. The new tools in CS5 makes things easier but it is not just selecting and the tree is gone, something that large will take work. For this one the image is not a good enough keeper to go through the trouble of getting rid of the tree and it really does not bother me that much ... prefer if it wasn't there .. yes :)

Wow, what perfect exposure! I love seeing the details in the upper wings like this.

Here's a re-post for you without the tree. Only took a minute. Not perfect, but you can see if you like it better without it.
