A male Bluethroat in the mountains of central Spain.
I keep getting those ugly pixels and traces of banding in the BG when saving as JPG...

Hi ignacio,
Lovely singing pose. Good colours, pretty good light angle and nice perch. I would probably put the bird a bit more to the right of the frame. Other than that great shot!
Gorgeous species, I'd like to see one someday:)
Looks a tad off-sharp, how much crop? I think I also agree with a little more space in front of the bird.
TFS!!!
Neat perch and even better looking bird Ignacio. The colors and pose are super. I am curious though as too what the perch is. Also do you know if these birds are related to wrens? Structurally they look very similar.
Beautiful subject for sure.
Agree with the need for more room on the front of the subject.
I think you could easily do a QM on the subject and apply additional sharpening. By doing it this way, you wouldn't over sharpen the grass nor cause noise in the background.
I might also try cloning out the in shadow grass elements on the left and perhaps close out the three or so tall ones to the right of where the birds back foot is.
Great bird. Killer singing pose. Just a crop from the bottom and some selective sharpening of the face and head and you will have a real winner.

Awesome pose Ignacio! :) Love the color of the throat, that just rocks man. Agree about crop and sharpening suggestions.
Thank you all, I'm often reluctant to sharpen for some reason, will keep that in mind.
Matt, the perch is a broom bush; they get covered in yellow later in the season. Bluethroats are actually thrushes (family Turdidae), more closely related to American Robins.
Best,
Great pose, angle, light and perch.. loved it..
Agree with the other comments great shot, amazing pose and BG.
Good work.
