Welcome. The bird and the pose are killer. The blues might be a tad over-SATed.... Is the BKGR a house? What is the shadow?? Please explain your technique and let us know how you focused.

The BKGR is an old barn that has a huge rose bush that they hunt from. The shadow is from the branches of the rose bush. They work the grass in the foreground swooping down on bugs and then returning to the nest. I having the AF set to focus tracking with lock-on and let the camera lock on to the subject when he is resting on the branch and then when he launches it tracks really well. I get 80 % sharp with a straight lens to camera and 70% or with extenders in the 1.4 and 1.7 range. Much less with 2X extender and sharpness falls of even when focus is nailed. This was the 400 2.8 with a 2X extender. Just shows its better to be lucky then good. I’ve based my entire career around that thinking! This image was captured in really low light hence the 1280 ISO. Color Checker is part of my routine and was used here but I may have punched up the SAT here a little.
