Default Living and Learning (about Arash Hazeghi)

    Attached Images Attached Images

I had the pleasure of meeting Arash Hazeghi on the Hooptie Deux on Saturday past. Arash and I have peacefully disagreed on many things in various Avian posts :) I had always assumed that his name was pronounced A-rash (with two short "a"s) hah-ZEG-ee and that he was an Arab. As it turns out, the preferred pronunciation of his name is UH-rahsh HAH-zuh-GYE (with a long "i") And that he is, like me, a Jew. So much for assumptions.

When I heard him say his name, I mentioned that it rhymed pretty closely with the Yiddish word, chazzerai (KHA-zuh-rye). He had never heard the word. Here it is from a neat Yiddish words site online (http://www.hebrew4christians.net/Glo...h_words.html): Junk food. Trash; drek; a mess. "Put it out to the curb with the other chazzerai." Live and learn.

In any case I enjoyed meeting him and look forward to meeting many more of you in similar circumstances. :)

Thanks for posting Artie, sure needed the sun glasses here. Now that I have become the celebrity here is another shot in a less strained mood.

BTW, my name is Persian, first name is the name of a mythical Persian king/hero who had a good aim and the last name means "expert" in Farsi, fortunately much better than the Yiddish equivalent. We should get borscht for lunch next time.

We were in good hands Al, many many thanks to captain Shadle for taking us there! super activity!

Arash, Beets are pure sugar to a diabetic :) There are 24 grams of carbs in one bowl of borscht. And 15 grams of carbs in one cup of sour cream. I eat only 30 grams of carbs in a day. Yikes!

Too bad:( hope they can come up with low carb beet equivalent soon. Happy that you are doing great in the field despite the strict diet.

Not really Kaustubh, I am not a professional and no where close to Artie, Al, Fabs, James, Jimmie et al here. This is a hobby for me and something that lets me get away from work :D Thanks for nice comments.

Artie you should try the polish version. It is clear broth of beets, creme optional (at least in my mother's version:))
    I bet less carbs...
