    Default Common Ringtail Possum

One of our more common marsupials. :D Photographed at night while spotlighting. Most Aussie mammals (especially the smaller ones) tend to be nocturnal. I quite like how the white-tipped tail is curled in this. Always wanted a nice clean shot, mostly they are buried in the foliage, stuffing their faces and at the same time using cover to avoid their arch enemy: The Powerful Owl! :)

30D, 300/4L IS + 1.4x, ISO400, f/8, 1/125th, HH, 430EX @ +1 with beamer, ~85% of full frame, did some eye doctor work since the eyes were burnt by the direct flash. :(

Might be common down there, but any marsupial is a mega exotic for me!
Great night shot and very nice use of flash, with good exposure in those whites. And good job on the eyes, looks quite natural to me. IMO an excellent nocturnal portrait.

Akos, you did a great job getting this and making it look pretty natural. He looks quite calm and your artwork on the eyes is pretty good.

Very well done. Though it looks like night, it does not at all look over-flashed.
