    Default Wood duck hen portrait

40D. 400f5.6L at f/6.3. iso 400. 1/320s. bean bag support on ground. cropped from horizontal. In hindsight, I think I should have stopped down and increased the ISO. With ducks, I dont usually compromise on SS as they are always swimming about.

Thanks for looking. All C&C welcome.

Only wish the bill tip were as sharp as the rest of the head. It is a wonderful portrait Kaustubh! Well done. :)

Super comp Kaustubh, and I like the low angle and pose. Great HA, and love the yellow ring around the eye.

Lovely detail and nice natural complimentary colors of the bird and BG. Nice HA and the first thing that struck me was the yellow ring around the eye...Nice one Kaustubh!

Love the soft light, the sharpness, pose, and background. The DOF looks fine to me. Excellent image.

Love the soft light, the smooth BG, the inquisitive pose.

I think you could probably mask the tip of the bill and get a bit more sharpness there to bring it in line with the rest of the birds head without it becoming noticeable?

    Very well done, Kaustubh.
Beautiful water and a very cute duck. It has a nice soft feel, and yet the detail is amazing
    DOF looks fine to me.
