    Default Scissor-tailed Flycatcher

Taken last year while observing this male and female do in flight courtship and several hunting sequences. One of the most striking birds I have photographed. The tail is so long...when I first saw this bird in flight, I thought it was carrying a piece of cloth or something back to the nest!

The male was just returning back to the nest tree after hunting.

D300, 600VR, f/4, ISO 400, 1/6400th SS, -.7EV (brought it up in post, -.3EV would have been better)

As always, C&C welcomed and encouraged.

Other than a bit tight for my taste, this is an excellent image. Well done! :)

Beautiful bird, colors stand out very nicely on the blue BG.

Jason, I've tried and failed many times at this :-) beautiful exposure and pose. Best way to show the tail. Only suggestion is to back down a bit on the color sat.
