Here is one more for this week's theme... continuing to play around with fractalius :) I had taken this image of the Budha Belly Plant (Jatropha podagrica) using Canon G11 in Macro mode. It was this colorful insect that attracted me to take this image (not sure if this is a beetle or something else). I applied Fractalius Glow 100 and changed the setting to get this effect. Then used a layer mask to bring back the insect. Hope you like it...

Indranil, Very cool effect and the bug looks fantastic! I think for a composition w/ a small bug as the main focal point it might be good to use the ROT for the bug or a corner area often works best for small subjects. This is wicked and I love it!!:)

Thanks Denise. Appreciate it a lot. Originally that was my intent but i did not want to lose the effect on the right. With a bigger canvas the bug was lost in the bg. So here is a different crop... what you think?

I like the repost a lot, Indranil! I think it strengthens the composition, and the bug really stands out. Great combination of colors. Well done!

Outstanding colors and effect, Indranil! Very eye-catching. I like both versions. The second definitely has the better comp, but I do like the larger area of Bg color on the original too.

Indranil, I think I like the second crop better. The colors are wild and I like the effect you got from frac. It does look other-worldly and the bug is gorgeous:)

Perfect subject for a frac piece Indranil. Repost crop looks better IMO.
