Hi Dave - like the pose and the included flowers -- keep a eye on that SS - little slow for the focal length.
Crop wise - too centred for my tastes - eye is pretty much smack bang middle of frame - would try a different crop to move the bird out of the centre.
The dark line that intersects the birds head in the BG draws attention - could remove if it fits with your ethics.
Exposure looks good and sharp as a tack.
    Good show :)

I like the sharpness of both the bird and the perch. I also like the fact that the background is not just a "colored" empty space because I think the hint of something in it gives the photograph, which is two-dimensional as a matter of fact, a better 3D feel. I would crop a bit off the top of the pic though. On my monitor, this photo looks like it could benefit from some "Multiply" treatment in pp. I also think the leaf that is touching the chest of the Robin could go away. Very good eye contact and pose, IMO.

bird looks fantastic! agree with lance on the center issue. would crop off the top and left. i like desmond's suggestion to multiply the highlights too. i think it would add much more detail to the bird. nice job with the slow ss!!

    Thanks Guys,

I had just finished an iteration and was not happy with the crop. It seemed to make the Robin too big so will give it another go a little later.

Dave, I agree with the slight crop suggestions and a couple of minor tweaks. They are a beautiful bird and you captured it very nicely. Congrats!!

Hi Dave, well handled generally. Another vote for half the backround off the top and a bit off the left. The smaller the bird looks in an image the less impact it has....
