Default I Never saw One of These

I have photographed dozens of Black-necked Stilts but have never seen a little one only days old. There are 4 in the clutch and here is one feeding on its own with Mama and Papa hovering nearby. Here it is in its habitat.

Cute little guy. They are quite amazing how fast they grow and become independent.

Looks like some NR on bg might be needed.

    hi milt
looks like you have done well I. maybe less than favorable light-cute little guy.
a little more head turn towards you might have yielded a catclight in the eye - as is turned just a fraction away and no catchlight.
    agree some nrvon the background.
    keep em coming

Milt, good comments by Lance. Cute subject but light,HA and noise(probably due to large crop) are the biggest issues hurting the image.

Hi Milt, I agree with the comments above. I don't know if you could have gotten any lower, but IMHO it would have helped this image.

Nice shot Milt. Agree with the above comments on NR...I have also seen the Stilt chicks and the ground and BG where they are is not easy to deal with and get a well contrasted image.....sadly I think there are only two left. The mother has become even more protective and is going after anything flying into or through her air space. I am going back to try and capture her straight verticle upward launch.
