Really like the colors in this. Nice texture in the fur and the tongue adds a nice little splash of interest. I also like the grasses coming "over" the back.

You hit the 'nail on the head' Bob, the paws are cut off and just a little too big in the frame, how I wish Canon would bring out thier version of 200-400.

Like the pose & the tongue out is a little gem. Grasses in the BG are slightly distraction, but...

With a 1.4 bolted onto the 500 does it not change the f stop? thought it would go to 5.6 not stay at 4?

Colours, comp, PP look a lot better then previous, great to see and very encouraging Bob.

Can I add my wishes for a better zoom from Canon, I constantly clip with my 500mm and it is very annoying.

I think I can see evidence of an increase in height (particularly in the left hand corner) that needs tidying up,

This has the cute factor AFAIAC. Wonderful and who cares about the paw? :D You did the best you could from what I understand and for that it is more than fine in my book. :)

Bob - next time take a 2nd shot lower that gets the paw and then have PS stitch the 2 images together. Works great when you have too much lens. Steve

Nice side on pose. Sharpness is fine. At times we don't have time to remove or change converters. And at times, it may become distracting for the subject as well. Having space all around would have helped. If you are using a third party TC, then at times, it doesn't show up in the EXIF.

    Bob, a very nice capture!
The fur detail, colors, and pose are nice, and the habitat/BG is quite complimentary.
You might try cloning out that weed behind the head if you wished to, as it detracts somewhat.
You might also experiment with a tight crop of the head as an alternative view of this cute little fellow and tongue!

    Cheers -

    Sandy r.
