Hi all, This image was created in early April with the judicious use of an audio call. These birds spend a lot of time on the ground, and in my experience usually only perch in the open to sing. I have removed several unwanted branches from this image.

    Canon 7D, 500 f/4 plus 1.4x, ISO 800, 1/250s, f/8, no flash, tripod with gimbal head

Comments and critiques are very welcome and appreciated, thanks for looking!

    Cheers!

Nice lookback pose and a great look at those long claws. I wish the oof branch was not there as it is a distraction for me...maybe a little burning would make it less obvious?

DOF covers the bird well and loopback works nicely with that red eye making a great focal point. Bright part of the perch could be burnt in a bit.

Shooting angle perhaps a teeeny bit high, but the eye is amazing, really catching feature of the bird.

Thanks Katie, Tony and Tobias! Tobias, the camera was at the same level as the perch.

    Cheers!
