This species is protected here, and I was lucky to catch them almost upon arrival before the fences went up. These two had just switched places on the eggs, but couldn't get a shot of the eggs.:(
Could only wish for better on this one. It was a high mid-day sun on a bright messy beach area. Could barely see the birds. Not sure if camera is shake involved or my settings were wrong. May have over-worked background too.
Couldn't get any light in those eyes.
Hi Ann,Yes, you were up against alot of difficult situations. The light is not helping and the image is a bit soft. As discussed with others interaction between 2 subjects strenghens an image.
The backround, while still recognizing the plants is not overly distracting. The foreground is very busy but thats the nature of the terrain
A severe crop might help ridding some of this and strenghtening the subjects...
Hi Anne - tough conditions for sure !! Lining the sun up behind you would have provided even illumination on the birds - guessing that was not possible under the circumstances - softer light or a overcast day is going to be required - really need some form of catchlight in the eye's so they dont look like a black hole in the birds head.
Id trying to see if I can just get the one bird in the frame and open right up F2.8 - to blur the BG out as much as possible.
As presented they do like quite soft - could be from large crop?? Or perhaps you were just so excited a little camera shake - has happened to me :)
Keep em coming :)
