I gree with Troy, it seems that you used some kind of bluring to the BG that it is clearly visible in the edges. To avoid such a kind of unnatural result it is best to use a mask in photoshop to have more control on the areas that you want to blur. In my opinion, there is to much empty and distractind room around the main subject but I like your idea of showing the concealment behaviour of the owl

I really like the look of the owl and shape of the trunk and the owl camo effect.
This kind of light situation is very tough. Can you get back there for softer or more direct light? You could try to bracket and use HDR or blended images.
I did use Gaussian blur on the background to soften the background leaves which I felt were distracting. I will have to have another go at it to see if I can get rid of some of the ghosting.
Hi Zethar, I have three suggestions. 1. Crop to place the bird using the ROT; 2. Brighten the eyes; 3. Darken any remaining whitish parts. Agree with Troy and Juan that concealment is a plus for your image: nice.
