    You certainly have the bird's attention.
    Lots of detail in the far wing and pretty intense eye contact.
    It looks like a few hot whites.

    Good for you to get nice and close.

    Hi Stuart - love the pose and the intense eye contact - whites do seem to be a little over in some places - should be a easy fix at the RAW stage.

    Hi Stuart Strong image and great re post !! Love the pose and that blue bg !!

    btw one thing you can do in PS to help things out is get a clone stamp and go around the heavy shadow to soften, take samples form each side (light/dark) at lower opacity like 40% and work the area slowly. Lots of times you loose the hard edge, the goal is not to do away with the shadow but to soften the transition !! Your doing real well Stuart !!!

    Hi Stuart, The repost is an improvement. I like the position you caught and the direct head on view.
