    Default Bathing Willet

    Attached Images Attached Images

On April 6th around 18.00 hrs on Sanibel Beach (about a mile from the lighthouse) I came across this Willet taking a bath in the late evening light. Went all the way down to the ground to get the right shooting angle.

    Details:
    1/3200, f5.6, ISO 400, 500mm/f4 + tc 1.4 (700mm) on 1DMkIV

Appreciate any comments. Thx for looking.

    Hai Clemens,

I really love the exposure, Composition And the way the water has been captured on this bird. The lighting is also magical and the low angle is outstanding.

    Hi Clemens,
Beautiful light, great low angle, love the water drops and the smooth blue water and sky; maybe just a bit tight for me.

Love the low angle and even the fact you don't see the legs. The water flowing all over the bird makes the image very "moving". Light is magic and the colors are nice and warm. Congratulations.

Awesome...So much to like. The light ,detail and exp...The only thing I think it needs is a 1 degree CW rotation...Otherwise perfect

We see lots of willets here. Love the light and the exposure on this one . . . The barely visible water-drops are a plus.

Great shot, the ultra-smooth water is very nice. Love the droplets. I think this image needs a bit of rotation, doesn't look quite straight to me.

Very nice. I like the low angle, it always works for shorebirds. The soft lighting is very nice and the water drops add a very nice touch.
