From Rondeau Provincial Park (Ontario), this was taken in the shade with moderate backlight. I had to brighten the bird and drop the BG brightness and contrast a bit.
The comp is one of my "Robert Bateman" impressions...:D (Robert has his own rules for composition!)

Hi Gary,
The composition is different and I quite like it. What makes it work for me is the interesting pattern of the vines twisting around the vertical branches and I think the urc green leaves balance your beautiful little bunting.
Great colors but the green leaf in the URC distracts my attention from the bird -- if it were mine I would either desat the green leaf or crop it out. The twisting vines look good
Gary, a very beautiful bird! I think i would like a bit cropped off the top and on the right side, making the bird bigger and more prominent in the frame.
Thanks for the replies everyone...this was a tough one to crop. I tried every combination I could think of ... when I included only the vines I felt it was a little stark...I had to really back off to include the leaf in the URC which was unfortunate because the bird was sharp and could withstand considerable enlargement. But in the end I really felt the leaf was needed to frame the image, so I've decided to leave this one as is.
I do appreciate the comments though....you folks really make me think!
