I will be the first to admit that the HA is slightly off. Its not often we get these guys in the open and pretty close too. The BG is a distant mountain. Taken in the Pilanesberg nature reserve last weekend.

Regardless of the less than ideal HA Stuart this is a wonderful capture. I like the beginning striding pose with an incredible bg and your perch adds tons of interest to the entire shot. Well done.

Stuart, loved the pose, perch and BG. comp excellent as well. A little color sat boost might help? but I dont know how colorful this bird really is.

Way cool comp and perch. Very "geometric" feel with the opposing angles between perch and subject! Great BG too. I do wish for a better HA though (as you already pointed out).

Matt said perfectly what I was thinking so I'll just echo that and congratulate you on a great image.

Good job, Stu. Lovely light and BG - I really like the intensity of their eyes and the patterns in the plumage. Raised leg really adds a lot. HA doesn't detract much from this for me.
