    Default lay low...

    D700
    300mm f/2.8 VR II with TC-20E III
    600mm
    ISO 3200
    f/7.1 at 1/250s
    Aperture Priority mode
    Matrix Metering
    +1.0EV
    AF-C, Dynamic 9 points
    Auto white balance
    handheld

NR, cloning out bright spot below the tail, boost contrast, crop, sharpen and set white/black point (should have done this the first step)

Since curfew is still in place in Bangkok I kind of stuck at home. So just practice my new combo with the most common bird here, a bit lower angle this time and a little more DOF on the bird (maybe not enough?). Also tried a pano crop for this one too.

All comments and suggestions are welcome.

Nice angle on this, Thanaboon. I like the head angle and eye contact too. Is this some kind of sparrow?

Sorry to hear of all the unrest there. Be safe!

Very nice pose and I like the nice low shooting angle.

Perhaps a bit more contrast in the bird?

    Nice and sharp as well.

Hi, The bird looks sharp which is fortunate shooting at 1/250 sec. I like the crop and the birds placement in the frame. Good, even lighting and the angle it was shot at is fine for my taste.Well handled...

like the low shooting angle - good detail throughout.
Tad more contrast on the bird

How do you find the AF with the 300 2.8 and the new 2X converter- Noticeable slower??

I never try the naked 300mm on these little sparrow, but I imagined the 2X would make the AF a bit slower. However I found the AF of 300mm with 2X to be as good as, if not better than, 70-200mm f/2.8 with 1.7X, which is good. I'm quite impress with its performance on these fast little hopper. Things starting to get back to normal here, I should be able to test this combo on BIF soon (if the gulls are still around).
