This was taken in the Kruger National Park at a distance of about a 100 meters. This guy wa displaying to the surrounding Hippos. I would love it to have been in Sunset or sunrise golden light but it didnt work out that way. This will have to do till next time. I like the detail in the mouth and you can see why they are the most dangerous Mammal in Africa.

    Hi Dumay, good job!:)

The shot works well head on, you almost feel like falling into the mouth. I am assuming as there is no SS you could perhaps have gone to f/11 to get even more DOF IMHO? Perhaps the bright light isn't ideal, but in some ways it has help, especially for inside the mouth. If this is cropped I might suggest perhaps halving the space below the jaw and increasing half above the top jaw, its just a little too central for me.

    Nice one. :)

Hey Dumay, great work. ( I still need to get one of these shots) Excellent detail from within the mouth, and I like that we can see the eye.

Hi Dumay One high impact image ... serious teeth !!!

Like most of all the fine detail and color, very natural !! Agree with Steve on positioning, would like seeing more room on the top, the animal is looking in that direction and needs more space !!! Big Congrats and love this image !!!

Thanks Guys for the comments. I will try the comp suggested as I had cropped the image. I also cropped out the head of a hippo next this one on the right of the image so this hippo is actually looking at the another one next to it. I love this sight, so much helpful advice...Thanks everyone:)

I agree that more space at the top would strengthen the composition. I like the display. Thanks for sharing.
