Hi Dave - looking good - good details in the blacks - if you have more space all around - I would consider cropping a little differently so the bird was a tad off centre - a little too centered for my tastes.
Maybe a tad more contrast on the bird?

Black bird is tough and you did well here, nice feather details on the bird. Love the calling pose of the bird, real nice. Just wish the bird perch a bit high up on the stick.
Hi Dave, overall I feel you did a pretty good job on this.Good detail in the blacks with open beak a plus. The perch is interesting and glad to see a bit of blue in the bkrnd as opposed to white.
Great exposure for the blacks. Nice looking bird...... I too wish it had been a tad higher on the perch, but I've never been good at communicating with birds, I suspect you haven't been either. Congrats!!!
I got a good chuckle out of that one Richard. Thanks:) To be honest I had not thought about asking them to do anything else but to show and sit still.
