This little guy was hopping around on my basil plants .... he seemed to know when the shutter was released and hopped away before the exposure was done. (I dunno -- does this count for the "foot motif"?)

Hi Ian, Tough subject! especially in flight at 1/250 sec. Difficult to pick a backround when your dealing with something this small but it is a bit bright around the tail. The image is soft probably due to the slow SS.
IMO you need to zero in on the feet rather than the whole body to be considered a foot motif...

Thanks, Dave. Yeah, I was flash-synch speed limited on this one, but was reasonably happy with it. I don't know what the little guy is (< 1/4" in length), but I have several images where he obviously moved a considerable distance in the time of the exposure. I only could get one of him sitting still, as he would "know" when I shot ....

Hmmm gonna have to get some extension on my macro to get those feet :p

Hi Ian - tough subject - Flies in flight ;)
Dave hit the main points right on the head - there might be more detail there to be coaxed out - would also run some NR on the BG.
    Keep em coming :)

Very nice shot considering the subject.
I like the colours and seems to have lots of detail.
Interesting you were flash sync. speed limited.

Dumb me ... I keep forgetting about High Speed Synch ... that would have helped! I was certainly close enough to my subject not to be power-limited.
