These yellow warblers are so beautiful.
Natural light, end of the aftrenoon last tuesday.
Minor adjustments in Lightroom.I hesitated on the crop. Horizontal shows the environment but tighter vertical put emphasis on the bird more. Please give me your thoughts

    Rene:

A very nice yellow warbler indeed. I have just had a few chances with them, and find them very engaging.

The soft light helped with your yellows, well exposed.
In regards to the crop. I might consider a slight crop in from the right, and a modest vignette of the corners to focus attention on the bird.
Perch is well scaled to the bird. Wish his breast a and beak were a bit more separated from the perch, but minor point.
There is some minor noise showing up in the smoother areas of the background, but not objectionable to me.

    Cheers

    Randy

randy made some very valid points. With a little work this beautiful image would become even stronger. The light in this is just killer.

Great comments from above but love this little yellow beauty and the wonderful pose and detail. Beautifully captured Rene !!! Growing up in Niagara Falls , Canada I do not remember ever seeing these little birds but so glad you shared with us.

Pleasant image. As for cropping, personally I don't like tight crops. If it were me, I'd move the bird away from the centre -- maybe put the bird in the upper-right 1/3 of the frame...back off a little more if you have to. It would be a nice environmental shot (but then I'm an environmental shot kind of guy!)

The yellows look a bit oversaturated to me....I find them very difficult to control on these birds.

I love the habitat depicted here and putting some canvas back would likely not hurt the image. If you prefer it tigher then I suggest that as posted a bit more off the top would be good. Good colours, but I agree some of the yellows seem a bit hot (especially on the flank, directly beneath the wing). I'm not crazy about the bill being so close to the branch but I like the pose this warbler gave you.
