    Hello Lance

I don't see much to complain about here, maybe brighten the eye a little. The plumage looks a little noisy on my monitor. Maybe consider trying to sharpen the wings a little more, I don't know, it looks pretty good to me.

I'll give it a try. But I'm being very picky.
I am not crazy about the vertical lines (left to right) of various shades in the BG.
Whites on the head lack detail.
Crop a little off the bottom.
Let me know if I'm even in the ballpark.

Composition wise, I like it as is.
    Sharpness, it is good.
    Love the overall image. TFS

Hi Lance. Near-pancake is an issue of course, and the bird is almost getting past you; but neither is a killer IMHO -- still a nice image. I agree that brightening the eye a bit could help. I'm not sure what the horizontal bg bands are, but they suggest the need for a bit of CCW rotation. Good dof considering the distance from wingtip to wingtip.

Nice shot with lots of detail.
It would have been a real killer if the bird had banked a bit your way.
The only couple of small things I can suggest would be bird is at best level and perhaps a tad past you, needs a bit ccw rotation and ha might be off a bit.

Dave - Bingo!! - Also not crazy about the lines in the bg - Best wing position is of course fully up or fully down.
A top down view can also sometimes work.

a little more banking would have been nicer, but this is still sweet! i'd remove the blue strip on the bottom. i have no clue what other issues you are referring to.

but lance, the lines in the bg are blurred and represent motion. are they that bad?

Picky picky picky...... I do think the bird is tad past you, but the detail and clarity are awesome especially with that 800mm. Nice job!

Even though it's a little past you, had the head angled back toward you a tad it would have still been fabulous. I am happy with the eye, it looks natural enough to me. :D You are asking for too much mate, really. Nothing wrong with the dorsal view. Who said all BIF images have to look the same? I reckon they would be boring then, no? This is different, hence why it stands out to me at least.
