Earlier this spring, I was able to observe and photograph the nesting cycle of a pair of White-Tailed Kites from when the nestlings were 2 weeks old until the successful fledging of 3 young kites. This is one of numerous food transfers I was able to capture. They were always from the male adult to one of the fledglings (as pictured) or to the female adult. The entire photo chronology is here:

There are probably some things I could critique but I'm not going to bother.

The interaction says it all and the outstretched talon and stare of the fledgling simply puts this one over the top for me....along with eye contact on both subjects.

Exposure looks great as does sharpness.

I'd love to see these birds in real life and witness this interaction and I'd definetly be thrilled if this were mine.

You have captured an amazingly perfect interaction; I could not see how the positions of either of the two birds could be any better. The mouse, the out-stretched talon--it is all too perfect. My only minor suggestions would be some selective sharpening of the face of the top bird and toning down the white on the belly of the juvie. All in all, fantastic.

This is a very tough shot to get, there was only one time I saw this and it was so far I didn't even try!
Excellent pose and details on both, as Artie said positions does not get better than this. I wonder if the adult is trying to teach the right "grip" to the juvi?

    Wonderful shot, TFS

Superb action and timing and amazing interaction. Great job. What a great image, well done Phil.

I just love the fact that all the important details are almost all on a vertical plane so the DOF covers everything important.

all has been said - simply AWESOME Phil...like Artie said, their poses couldn't have been better. It does seem to my eye that there is a blueish cast on the birds (as the sky is blue to begin with)...

This really is an incredible shot. If I could find anything wrong with it it would be nit picking, so I won't! Well done.
