This image was taken during Artie's Galapagos trip last July - Espanola Island. Albatrosses are amazing fliers and I really like the heading-right-at-you view. 20D, 300 f/4 + 1.4x, 1/1250, f/8, ISO 400. Added some canvas at the bottom as the wing tip almost touched the frame and cropped slightly on the right.
I agree with your assessment concerning the right at you orientation. I've always thought that diagonal flight images are dynamic and interesting and yours is a beauty.
