While waiting for the fog to clear I went looking for suitable subjects. The fog was literally boiling and unbelievably thick on this morning. This heron was walking along the top of a structure at the TVA dam and I loved the simplicity of the scene. I removed the head of a second heron that detracted from the scene. Canon Mark II, 500/4 IS, 1.4, ISO 200, 1/500 @f/16 (used f/16 so the sun would have sharper edges)

Very elegant, great graphic appeal. I'm posting another version, eliminating some of the middle.
    Hope you like it!

I really liked the original and thought it would be even nicer if there was less space in the middle......lo and behold.....Fabs goes right to it. Cool!!! This has simplicity, color and serenity.

I have a different idea for a crop of this interesting image. Square format.

Both suggested crops work really well for their own reasons. Excellent image to start with for sure.
