    Default Red-Tailed Hawk

This Red-Tailed Hawk was photographed in Nov '06 at Moss Beach in Half Moon Bay, CA. For some reason, this hawk spent an entire afternoon going back and forth along a bluff behind the beach without being faced at all by the numerous spectators and close distance. It was a thrill especially considering that I had just bought the 400F5.6. In this image it was leaping from the ground into a tree.

    Thanks for looking. JR

Very interesting pose and the BG adds to it. I would sharpen the bird a bit more, brighten the shadows in the BG and/or S/H and get rid of the blue spots in the BG.

A very interesting image! Axel brought up some good points and I would add that if it was possible to create a little more seperation between the bird's right wingtips and the background. I really like this one!

Cool looking Redtail. Ours are much, much lighter in colour. Nice underside. Wish the BG was further back for some nice bokeh. Also wish for some eye contact.

I love the unusual pose and the detail of the wings.

Very nice pose, wish for more room at the bottom. Great suggestions given above. Thanks for sharing this, I enjoyed it!
