Another image of my favorite bird from the recent Alan Murphy Arizona Workshop. Used a large f-stop and a high ISO to get a fast SS as we were trying to get it mid air as it jumped between perches. No luck on the jump but still got some keepers on the perch. Amazing to me that this bird kills and eats rattlesnakes.

A real beauty Joe! I love Roadrunner's too...haven't managed a presentable shot either of the two times I seen them. Great exposure, perch, background...partially open mouth adds to it.

    Cheers!

    Excellent Image from the Pond!
This roadrunner at the pond is nearly domesticated -- it comes into the The Pond's shop area to beg the owner to put out mealworms. It will come up to the blinds and beg. The week before your workshop, it was gathering mouthfuls of mealworms and running them back to a nearby nest for young. It is difficult to make a good image on the Cholla prop with a mouthfull of mealworms hanging out without having someone else fake placement of mealworms on top of the cholla prop.
Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Nice presentation to show off the long tail. Y may back off the sharpening in the perch, though.
