Default Great Horned Owl - Incoming

    Camera Maker: Canon
    Camera Model: 7D
    Focal Length: 600mm
    Aperture: f/5.6
    Exposure Time: 1/1600th
    ISO equiv: 640

Trying to make sure my crop is giving this bird a bit of room to fly, and some room to land.

Eye's brightened a bit as well.

Nice - like the direct eye contact - wings frame the face nicely - IMHO. Like the BG also - nice 3D Feel.
Closer you are to a subject the faster the SS required to freeze the motion - so if you had wanted to freeze the wings here - would have needed about 1/2500TH - Doable with a increase in ISO.

A slight contrast boost and some additional sharpening is all thats needed - IMHO.

    Good one!!

here s what I was thinking in terms of sharpening - its fairly subtle - so have done it more than you would so you can see :)

Can you tell us how you managed to get this? Wonderful stuff for the reasons already mentioned.

I like Lance's repost as well.

    TFS!

Very nice! I like the coming toward you position and the intense stare. Exposure is well handled along with detail and backround. A winner in my book!
