Nikon D200, Nikkor 200-400mm, f5.6,1/250, iso 400, truck window with beanbag, cloudy evening . Like muted BG. Would like more pop with the bird. Tried quick mask with color range selector on the bird in order to maintain BG . Selective color trial and error seemed to improve both yellows and blacks. A photoshop amateur.

Hi Gary, Beautiful subject and a well handled backround. I like the cattail it's perched on leaning in a slight diagonal.
The open beak is a plus with good detail in both colors. The head angle isn't bad but would have wished for an angle a little bit more towards the viewer.
I felt the image appeared a bit soft and I sharpened it a bit.( Using a new piece of software and I might have overdone a bit) I cropped the image and cloned out various areas I felt were distracting. Finally, I lightened the head a bit

Nice capture Gary. I love the birch and the bird. I agree with Dave's comments and like his re-post.

Think Dave's repost has nailed it too. All the focus is on the bird.
